Stand Up Surf Shop SUP 5000 presented by Dale Chapman Designs - 20th October 2012

Carrying on the success from the inaugural SUP 5000 this event was shaping up to be bigger than before and with the bonus prize of a $1300 voucher supplied by DC the contestants came from far and wide. Breaking SUPWA's previous record of entrants 54 paddlers came out to take on the course. Under the mid-morning sun the scene was set for some hot racing, add to that the new range of 2013 Starboards on display and plenty of Dale's boards present it would be a tight tussle at the top.

While the results were being calculated it was time for SUPWA's first kids race. It was to be a straight 50 metre dash with 18 kids entered and the majority on race boards. There were four races conducted with two being solo and the other two being tandem. There was no clear winner so all kids left with a prize and plenty of lollies for the parents to deal with.
